After a Leave of Absence....

Since I haven't blogged in over 7 months, (wow) I think I'm going to start it up again. It will help me keep a daily/weekly devotional time which will be good for me. :)

So here goes my first post since December 2012.~

A reflection on Trust

As a Christian I find it such a blessing to be able to rest in God's sovereign power in my life. He knew the hour of my birth and He knows the hour of my death. Not only can I trust in His sovereignty, I can also know that He will keep safe because I am His Child! What peace their is in Christ! It reminds me of the Hymn:

Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus
Just to take Him at His Word,
Just to rest upon His promise,
and to know thus saith the Lord

Jesus, Jesus, How I trust Him
How I've proved Him o'er and o'er
Jesus, Jesus, Precious Jesus
O for grace to trust Him more

To know that one day we will be with Jesus our Savour is overwhelming! We can be confident that, as Romans 14:8 says, "for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord's."
Although it is easy to loose sight of the Lord when we stumble and sin, we must remember that Christ will forgive those who repent, and obey Him. It was Jesus Himself who paid the punishment of a cruel death and took our guiltiness upon Himself. He received the scourging, bruises, and beatings that we, sinful man, deserved. He was nailed to the tree in our place so that we may have life in Him! Since He died for us, how much more will he keep us in Him till we meet Him in the clouds and become like Him! Even though He is not physically present on earth now, His Spirit Lives in us! (1 John 4:13)  May we not waver in faith but be steadfast, trusting the Lord and doing His will. May we be convinced with Paul in Romans 8:38-39,

"For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Till we go to be with Him,

Blessings,
       Lucas C.
